Ancient, in this sense, applies to those items from over one hundred years ago. Many of our boundaries owe their origin to ancient times during the early formation of the state, or before. In the past, laws were different, terminology was different, and surveying procedures were very different. When relying on ancient documents, handwriting and abbreviations can be difficult to decipher and may be misleading. This program contains a review of these issues, with suggestions on how to overcome their related obstacles.
