Inadequate preparation for boundary retracement often leads to gross inefficiency - causing needless return visits to the site or to sources of information such as the court house (known as "doing more research"). This seminar presentation explores the thought process of properly evaluating the project to attempt maximum efficiency. Numerous items and the reasons for their inclusion are discussed, such as available maps, historical accounts, various tools, and adequate record research, among many others. . A field exercise is part of the program, and each team will need a GPS unit, a digital camera and a cell phone.
